I <3 Actions!

While we were visiting Utah one of my best friends introduced me to Actions that you can download to Photoshop. Most of them are very expensive, but I was able to find some really useful ones for free.

Our lives are super crazy right now so I haven't had a lot of time to use them all, but that is another reason why Actions are so great. They do all the work for you! Love it!

Before: SOOC (straight out of camera)
After:
For this photo I used a burn action and a "bright eyes" action that I downloaded for free at coffeeteaphotography.blogspot.com. I also blurred the background.

Grand Tetons and Grand Canyon of Yellowstone

Grand Tetons
One of my favorite places on earth!

My Dad and I woke up before the sun to snap these pictures. Well worth it!

I don't know what a photographer "looks" like, but I thought my Dad dressed the part :)

Grand Canyon of Yellowstone

The rainclouds came in while we were at the falls so we weren't able to get the shots that I wanted. Maybe another time...

The rain did leave us one gift!
I definitely understand why this place is one of the most photographed places in the US!

Summer is in bloom!

During our run this morning we passed a gorgeous field of wild flowers and an old rustic barn. I wanted to get pictures of the flowers before they died, so I took my favorite model back to this spot. After more careful observation, we saw that the barn was blocked off by a barbed-wire fence, but once I get the courage to do so, I will ask permission from the barn's owners to take pictures on their property - someday.

Garden of the Gods Photo Field Trip

I was able to go on a photo field trip this morning near Garden of the Gods with a wonderful photographer in our ward. I absolutely love all of the pictures I got today. Since I can't decide which one is my favorite, you will have to vote and tell me which one you like the best. The truth is, Steve showed us exactly where to get these great shots, and he also taught us a lot about adding depth of field. I'm excited to go on our next shoot!

Thanks Steve!

Amusement Park

Being at this carnival-style amusement park brought back great memories of my childhood. I hope that my kids remember this day for a long time.
